On Tuesday 24 March 2026, Law Centre for Health and Life researcher dr. Katrina Perehudoff was invited to the Dutch Parliament for the presentation of an open letter on medicine price transparency by Wemos, a Dutch NGO working on global health.

LCHL’s independent academic research on legal requirements and approaches for enhancing transparency in the pharmaceutical market has informed policymakers and civil society campaigns, such as this initiative by Wemos. In the past, LCHL’s research has contributed to a WHO Europe-commissioned report on legal tools for the transparency of pharmaceutical markets in Europe (with Medicines Law & Policy), to an OECD expert group on the same topic, to an expert hearing on Expensive Medicines organised by the Dutch Parliament’s Committee for Public Health, Wellbeing and Sport. The Law Centre for Health and Life continues to examine legal strategies for improving the transparency of pharmaceutical markets, including as part of Katrina’s contribution to the Lancet Commission on Accelerating Progress on Essential Medicines. LCHL is committed to widely sharing its findings and contributing to public and parliamentary debates where legal expertise can help clarify the available policy options.
